About us


Monaco Corporate Secretariat, (hereon referred to as M.C.S.), is well established in Monaco, and a member of many local and international associations. Thinking globally, acting locally is one of MCS's mottos, and as a result MCS supports local charities. On a professional front, MCS is a member of AMPA, ITPA, STEP, AMCO, the IOD, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand.

M.C.S. aims to give a reliable, personal, discrete and professional service.

M.C.S.'s friendly team and board room in Monaco is available to you when you come on board to become our client.

It is important to us to advise you when you need it. To this end, a clear picture is needed of your current situation. With this regard, your telephone communications are important to us and are often included in our fees. We are available to meet with you in person, if need be in one of our affiliate offices abroad, should you be unable to travel to our Monaco Office.

By the way, MCS's policy is to give comprehensive all inclusive quotes with no hidden or additional costs for offshore companies and trusts. This means that annual fees, directors and / or trustee fees and much of the valuable tax planning time is included in the Monaco domiciliation of your company or trust we form and manage for you. As value for money is part of protecting your assets and cash flow, the initial international tax planning session can be deducted from any structure you order from us within one month, as a result of your meeting.

Derek Smith is the owner and managing Director of Monaco Corporate Secretariat.

Derek is married and lives in Monaco. He was born in 1962 in New Zealand and was educated at Kings College, Auckland; after completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Auckland University in the early eighties he trained with Deloitte & Touche, Chartered Accountants in both Auckland and London and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (N.Z.). During the mid eighties he moved to Monaco and has for 20 years consulted with offshore professional firms in Monaco and Luxembourg on intra European and international tax planning, trust and corporate administration, and business advisory services. Derek is a British national.

Derek has been a member of the Institute of Directors since 1989 and in 1996 was elected to the board of the Institute of Directors, Monaco Branch. He is also a member of the International Tax Planning Association since 1992, Society of Trust & Estate Tax Practitioners and a member of several Monaco Associations, including the Automobile Club, the Yacht club & is a past president of the Monte Carlo Cricket Club.
